"Death of Conservatism"
One of my favorite radio shows is Radio Times with Marty Moss-Coane produced here in Philly on WHYY. Yesterday she had a great discussion with Sam Tanenhaus, the author of the "Death of Conservatism". He goes into some historical detail about how the fringe of the Republican party has taken over and have pushed the moderates out. Give it a listen while you work at your computer. :-)

Hour One
In his new book, The Death of Conservatism, author SAM TANENHAUS argues that the nation is better off when liberals are challenged by "true" conservatives. Tanenhaus is the editor of the New York Times Book Review and Week in Review sections. Listen to the mp3

Hecklin' Joe, Maureen and the crazies in D.C.
The recent article by Maureen Dowd is right on. I'm glad someone finally decided to write about the elephant in the room.
Did you see the crowd in DC for the 'tax payer protests'? From what I saw most, if not all of them were white, middle aged and scared. I suppose if you came from a place like South Carolina where in 1860 you enslaved 57% of your population you might be scared too now that a black guy is in charge. The fact that these jokers co-oped the term 'freedom riders' and wore it proudly on their shirts is nauseating.
